Environmental Humanities on a Mission

National Research Conference

Humans are the cause of the climate crisis and hold the key to its solution. Yet, the human aspect of the transition to a sustainable future often takes a back seat to technical invention and political regulation in green research missions.

Conference title on green background

How can we integrate culture, habits, engagement, and visions for the future into the overall framework for environmental research to strengthen public support and commitment to the green transition?

The humanities faculties and research sections at six Danish universities invite everyone engaged in environmental humanities to a research conference that focuses on the missions, goals, and contributions of environmental humanities to the green transition.

We have formulated four green research missions on education, democracy, global justice, and possible futures that we would like to deliberate on with you. Together, we shall unfold specific environmental humanities research initiatives, and take a deep dive into the discussion of mission-driven research in the humanities with insights from Danish and international experts.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required. The programme will be updated continually on the conference page.
